The Diesel / Gasoline Engine Cutaway Training Set presents a cross sectional model of various
components of a gasoline/diesel engine. When the system is started, the operations of a gasoline engine can be observed from various angles. The areas and components which are represented in cross sectional form are assigned different colors. An asynchronous motor fed by grid voltage is used to set the system in motion. When started, the system operates at such a low speed as 5 cycles per minute. This allows the easy observation of all movement in the system. Additionally, as there will be no active lubrication in the system, the low level of cycles will help prevent operations that may result in mechanical failures. In designing the set, measures were taken with a view to minimizing possible electrical and mechanical safety weaknesses and prioritizing user safety. The platform on which the system is mounted, is equipped with locking casters which provide easy movement. The panel is made completely of durable metals.
